In 1999 Sumitomo sold 75% of the company to Goodyear, and owned 25%. Dunlop is managed in Europe from Brussels. The American section is led by Goodyear, from Akron, Ohio.
In 2015 Sumitomo Rubber and Goodyear decided to end the cooperation within Dunlop Tire after 16 years. The equity interests in the Dunlop companies in which both companies participate are exchanged.
